Fire on the Storjen OB 71

Lost on 2nd.July 1978 both crew saved

Good to know that the crew was saved Also it is the first picture I have seen with a fishing vessel on fire.

A really frightening thing at sea Tayne ,sad to see the old girl go this way Ronnie even though you thought she was a poor sea boat.

I think it was an electrical fault that started it and it took a hold pretty quickly,as you say,no a nice sight to see,but thankfully nobody lost their life,that's the main thing. Norski boats are usually great sea boats Jim but she was an abomination...she rolled like a barrel,she broached on you if you took yer eye off her for a second,and would put her stem heid under without even trying. The old man said he had never seen anything like her.A big able looking vessel too when you saw her out the water,but awfae wedge shaped under the water forrit.I think that was why she was so poor at punching,she didnae hae the belly in the hull fae the shooders tae the bow,nothing tae hold her up...when she came doon she kept going !! Having said all that she was a guid freen tae us all the time we had her,so really I shouldnae complain.
