creel nets crail

demonstrating how the nets for the creels are made by hand
you got 4 complete nets from ane ball of twine and it took 20 mins from start to finish to do by hand non of this haul it the gither but it was all mended to each mesh when put on the creel.

Aye George,time was the wifie o' the hoose did far mair graft in a day than her man...looking efter bairns,washings,cooking,cleaning,mussel gethering/sheeling,baiting lines,knitting creel sheets,no tae mention traipsin' a' ower the district wi' a creel o' fish on her back...if ye had pit a horse through that amount o' work ye wid have hid the cruelty man efter ye !! The men were a hardy breed but the women were even hardier.

aye true ronnie a seem to recall that the port seton wimmin carried there men oot tae the boat on there backs or a may be wrang in that seen it in a book memorys a bit fickle
